Additional donations come in to Give-A-Christmas campaign
Total: $2,190
Goal: $18,000
With Christmas just a couple of weeks away, the Herald-Standard’s Give-A-Christmas campaign continues toward its goal of raising $18,000 for The Salvation Army units in the area.
While donations are coming in a bit slowly, Sparkle the Christmas Star, the campaign’s mascot, remained optimistic that the community’s generous holiday spirit would once again shine through, ensuring Give-A-Christmas meets its goal.
“Every year we’re able to help fund the programs at The Salvation Army through this campaign, and I know this year will be no different,” Sparkle said. “Our community members truly believe in making a difference, and I know that will continue.”
Funds raised through Give-A-Christmas stay in Fayette County, supporting units in Connellsville, Masontown and Uniontown with a number of programs that help those who are in need.
The newspaper has been coordinating the campaign for more than three decades, and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars over that time.
“Any amount helps,” Sparkle said. “Please consider mailing in a donation or dropping it off at the Herald-Standard office.”
