Carmichaels instructor receives Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star Teacher Award

Carmichaels Area High School teacher Kevin Willis recently won The Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star Teacher Award presented by Chevron, Pirates Charities, and The Grable Foundation. Willis, who has taught science at Carmichaels for 23 years, was recognized for the contributions he makes to students. Willis’ passion for teaching and mentoring students made him standout among the 320 other teacher applications.He won tickets to an upcoming Pirates game, a $1,000 check to use in his classroom, a Pirates jersey, and a Pirates chest filled with gear. Willis will be recognized at the June 23 Pirate game. Pictured are Willis, his wife Kelly and son Chase and the Pirate Parrot.
