Additional donations come in to Give-A-Christmas
Total: $1,438
Goal: $20,000
Donations continue to come in to the annual Give-A-Christmas campaign to raise funds for The Salvation Army.
The total raised stands at $1,438, but that amount is far short of the campaign’s $20,000 goal.
“While I’m worried that we’re not farther along with our fundraising, I just know our readers will come through,” said the campaign’s mascot, Sparkle. “Our community is filled with generous people who always offer their support to help those around them.”
Give-A-Christmas helps The Salvation Army service centers in the Herald-Standard’s readership area, meaning the money donated stays in the community. Thanks to community support, the program has been going on for nearly four decades.
The most recent contributors include:
Richard Pechatsko of Masontown, in memory of Nick and Katherine Pechatsko, Bill Ashby, Michael Schmidt and Drew Yarris
Julie Joseph of Uniontonw, in memory of all friends and family who have passed away
Joyce Carbonara of Uniontown, in loving memory of husband, father and grandfather Michael S. Carbonara
David and Zoann Callahan of Point Marion
Theodore and Patricia Crable of Uniontown
Ron and Pat Gaydos of Uniontown
Ladies of Charity of the Roman Catholic Churches of Southern Fayette County
Contributions for the Sparkle campaign will be accepted through Dec. 23 and can be mailed to Give-A-Christmas, c/o Herald-Standard, 8 E. Church St., Uniontown, Pa., 15401. Checks should be made out to Give-A-Christmas. Additionally, donations may be dropped off at the newspaper office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Watch for periodic updates on where the campaign stands in the Herald-Standard and on heraldstandard.com. The grand total raised will be announced in the Christmas Eve edition of the newspaper.
