What does it take to serve hundreds of Thanksgiving meals? According to Jessica Stuart, administrative assistant at City Church of Connellsville, it takes 15 turkeys, each weighing a minimum of 15 pounds, 300 pounds of potatoes, 30 gallons of green beans and lots of dinner rolls. The church was set to serve about 1,000 meals for the community at the Connellsville Senior Center Thursday, with options to eat there or have meals delivered. “Nobody should be alone on Thanksgiving Day, and it’s really difficult to be thankful when you are alone, so we’re here.”
