Teen movie review
1. Reviewer’s name, high school: Tina Urban, Laurel Highlands High School. 2. Movie reviewed: “Sorority Boys.”
3. Type of movie: Comedy.
4. Stars of movie: Barry Watson and Melissa Sagemiller.
5. Rating: R.
6. Plot of movie: “Dave, Adam and Doffer are head of their fraternity’s social committee, but when the president frames them for the theft of the frat’s money, they are thrown out. In order to prove that they didn’t do it, they become Daisy, Adina and Roberta, and they join a not-so-popular sorority, Delta Omicron Gamma (DOG). Dave, Adam and Doofer begin to bond with the undesirable sisters and learn valuable lessons about how they used to treat women.”
7. Best part of movie: “As Adam, or rather Adina, is walking down the street, he finds out exactly what it is like to be a woman with flaws. When she’s finally had enough of it, she throws a rock at a car full of screaming idiots.”
8. Would you recommend this movie to a friend? Why or why not?: “I would definitely not recommend this to the younger generation. Although there is a definite moralistic message, the way it was presented was raunchy. It would have been a good movie if they would have cut out all of the sick humor.”
9. Did the movie have a message? If so, what was it?: “It teaches men, in a weird way, that they need to value women. Dave, Adam and Doofer found out what it was like to be a woman who wasn’t magazine-perfect. It’s not what is outside, but what is inside that really counts.”
10. Did you like the music in the movie? What type of music was it?: “Most of the music was the college, frat-party type. It wasn’t bad for teenagers, but it definitely wasn’t geared toward the older generation. But then again, neither was the movie.”
