Uniontown students to present ‘No, No, Nanette'”No, No, Nanette” will be presented as Uniontown Area High School’s spring musical at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday in the Margaret A. Emelson Auditorium.
Seniors Lauren Smiley, Matthew Smalley, Jeremy Lee and Emily Jarina are filling the leading roles. In last year’s production of “The Wizard of Oz,” Smiley played Glinda, the good witch; Smalley was the Cowardly Lion; and Lee portrayed the Scarecrow. Although this is her first major role, Jarina has been involved with the musicals for the past four years. Sophomore Meg Thompson will play the title role of Nanette with junior Anthony Gulino, who played last year’s Tinman, portraying her beau.
Appearing as the overworked maid is sophomore Sarah Howarth.
Playing the roles of the three gold-digging girlfriends are freshmen Sara Peskie, Kathryn Brittingham and Kathleen Hudik.
Seniors Allison Dzurnak, Katilee Parnell and Doug Myers are serving as dance captains. Other members of the singing/dancing chorus are Laura Bobick, Jayme Borris, Anna Brown, Katie Coburn, Amanda Emery, Marissa Flesher, Nicole Franks, Kenneth Hager, Jesse Heslop, Julia Hyjurick, Nicole Layhue, Ashley Lowry, Liz McDonald, Bethany Moreau, Emily Nalevanko, Amanda Wager and Mariah Zajac.
Music is under the direction of Roddy Hibbs with Kathleen Sickles serving as the choreographer. Ron Bronson is directing the production with assistance from Matthew Dowling, the student director/stage manager. Robert Caldwell is in charge of the lighting and sound crews.
The cost of admission is $5. Reserved tickets are available at the high school office from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
