Perry Players to perform ‘Going Ape’

1 min read

PERRYOPOLIS – The Perry Players Theatre Group will perform the hilarious farce “Going Ape” on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5, at the First Christian Church Family Life Center in Perryopolis. The play will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 4, and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students and seniors age 65 and older. Refreshments will be available at intermission.

The farce has some serious undertones. Rupert played by Frank Novotny, an idealistic and romantic orphan, has come to his uncle’s house to commit suicide. This proves to be no easy matter. For one thing, he is constantly interrupted by a stream of visitors, including actors Joanne Cushman, Wanda Welling, Ron Humbert and Ron Lombard.

In a startlingly theatrical climax, Rupert begins to understand what life is all about.

The play is directed by Adrienne Dzurko and set by Raul Lopez.
