Teen movie review
1. Reviewer’s name, high school: Amy Pukl, Albert Gallatin High School. 2. Movie reviewed: “Austin Powers in Goldmember.”
3. Type of movie: Comedy/action.
4. Stars of movie: Mike Myers and Beyonce Knowles.
5. Rating: PG-13.
6. Plot of movie: “In the triple threat to your funny bone movie, ‘Austin Powers in Goldmember,’ the James Bond ‘wannabe’ is trying to save the Earth from being flooded by the mastermind Dr. Evil and his unspoken clone Mini Me. As Austin Powers and his sidekick, Foxxy Cleopatra, team up to fight the henchmen under Dr. Evil, they collide with some laughs, love and action along the way.”
7. What is the part of the movie?: “Overall, this movie was funny. I wouldn’t recommend it to older adults who might think some of the comedy is vulgar, but this is a definite ‘must see’ for teens and young adults. For the James Bond fanatics, like myself, it’s interesting to see the satire in the Mike Myers’ movie compared to Ian Fleming’s action-packed films.”
8. Would you recommend this movie to a friend? Why or why not?: “I would recommend this film to people who are close to my age because this type of comedy isn’t usually well liked among the older crowd. Because I am a Christian, the only problem I had with this movie is that it is really sexually suggestive throughout most of the movie.”
9. Did the movie have a message? What was it?: “The movie didn’t have a message, but it was enjoyable to watch.”
10. Did you like the music in the movie? What type of music was it?: “The music to the movie fit in really well with the scenarios that were taking place and the whole 1970s feel to the film.”
