Local woman to perform ‘send off’ voice recital at Asbury church
A “send off” voice recital will be performed by Heather Fox of Uniontown at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Smith Chapel of Asbury United Methodist Church in Uniontown. The recital sponsored by the Asbury Music Ministry and Asbury Theatre Guild, will be a fitting send off for Fox as she moves to Richmond, Va., to begin her professional acting career with Theatre IV, the second-largest children’s theatre in the country.
She will tour with the company from September through May in productions of “The Big Adventures of Stuart Little” and “The Ugly Duckling.”
Fox will present a varied program of vocal pieces including “Caro Mio Ben” by Giordani, “Green Finch and Linnett Bird” by Sondheim, “I Never Knew His Name” by Wildhorn and Murphy, “My Coloring Book” by Kander, “Old Friend” by Ford and Cryer, “Show Me” from Lerner and Loewe’s “My Fair Lady” and “Somebody Love Me” by Gershwin.
Fox is a 2002 graduate of West Virginia University’s College of Creative Arts.
She is the daughter of David and Sherrie Fox of Uniontown.
Admission to the voice recital is open to all interested people.
A free-will donation will be accepted during the performance.
A reception will follow the performance in the church social hall.
Asbury Church is located at the corner of South Beeson Avenue and Dunbar Street.
