Gospel group to perform at church in Uniontown
The Steel City Quartet will perform at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at the Uniontown Church of the Nazarene, 8 Jeffrey Lane, Uniontown. A free will offering will be taken. Since 1983, the Steel City Quartet has been touching the lives of listeners in more than 2,700 churches, fairs and auditoriums throughout the tri-state area. The group plays traditional, southern gospel, country and oldies music. Since the group’s latest release of the “Fabulous ’50s Gospel” was aired nationwide on television, the group has been receiving attention from all over the nation.
Members of the Steel City Quartet are John (Legs) Lawrenzi of Sutersville, who sings tenor and manages the group; Chuck Johnson of Brownsville, who sings lead and baritone; and his wife Dara Johnson, who sings lead and alto. Completing the group and running the sound equipment is Barbara Yurasek of Johnstown.

The Steel City Quartet will also host its annual banquet on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at Hugo’s Restaurant, which is located along Route 40, Centerville. The cost for the dinner and concert is $15 per person. All reservations must be made before Saturday, Sept. 14. The family-style dinner will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the concert.
