WYS to present first concert of season
GREENSBURG – The Westmoreland Youth Symphony will present its first concert of the season at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cecilian Hall on the campus of Seton Hill University in Greensburg. This will be the inaugural concert of newly appointed music director, Warren Davidson, concertmaster of the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra.
The Westmoreland Youth Symphony has been providing education and entertainment since 1981. Members of the orchestra are accepted by audition and range in age 11 to 19.
The concert program includes “Symphony No. 31 in D Major” by Mozart, “Russian Folk Songs” by Liadov and “Overture to Nabucco” by Verdi. Tickets cost $15 for a family pass, $6 for adults and $4 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
