AAFC to present Broadway musical comedy, ‘Oliver’
SCOTTDALE – Actors and Artists of Fayette County will present the classic Broadway musical comedy “Oliver” on Saturday and Sunday, July 13-14, and Friday through Sunday, July 19-21. “Oliver” will entertain the audience witb melodies, dance numbers and humorous antics while taking the audience back to Old World London.”
“Oliver” captures the energy of Charles Dickens “Oliver Twist” and was adapted for the stage by Lionel Bart. Bart’s dynamic and robust score includes hits such as “Food Glorious Food,” “As Long As He Needs Me,” “Consider Yourself” and “Who Will Buy.”
With a cast of 43, AAFC has had to hunt for authentic period costumes. Joan Mountain and Debbie Bronson have been busy creating and altering cast members costumes while director Ron Bronson works with Vintage Costumes of Scottdale to find those hard to find specialty costumes.
Aurelia O’Keefe, William Dreucci, Cindy Molinaro, Richard R. Davis and Anthony Gulino head up the multi-talented cast. Henry Molinaro, Jennifer Greenawalt, Josh Underwood, Paul Appleby, Patty Gulino, Stormie Clark, Mark Kiefer, Joy Newell, Dottie Davis, Carol Westerman, Wendy Sowinski, Ron Bronson and Steve Dibert play the supporting roles.
Making up the remainder of the ensemble of orphans, thieves and townspeople are Christopher Baker, Caitlyn Bovard, Kailee Firestone, Hallie Geary, Allison Grenell, Cassidy Hartz, Nicholas Hensel, Steven Hensel, Timmy Hensel, Janet Keibler, Allison Kring, Emily Kring, Tessa Markle, Maggie Martinsen, Rachel Mast, Emily Molinaro, Francesca Molinaro, Annie Moot, Isaac Newell, Evangeline O’Keefe, Luke Pelzer, Megan Sowinski and Katie Wisilosky. Ron Bronson is directing AAFC’s “Oliver” with Steve Clark as music director and Suzie Zalar as choreographer.
Curtain times for AAFC’s “Oliver” are 8:15 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 3:15 p.m. Sundays. Tickets for “Oliver” are $10 and are available at the theater box office during regular box office hours from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday or by calling 724-887-0887. Tickets will also be available at the door. Actors and Artists of Fayette County, Scottdale Showtime Theater and the Lido Caf’ will be offering Luncheon Before The Lights at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12, and Friday, July 19. Luncheon Before The Lights is a brief program about the current AAFC show, a light supper and a ticket to Friday’s performance. The cost is just $20. Reservations are required.
