Jozart Studios in California to host ‘Open Venue Night’

2 min read

CALIFORNIA – Jozart Studios, a center for creativity located in California, announced that a regular “Open Venue Night” is offered for writers, artists and musicians to showcase their work. Carla Anderton, Editor-in-Chief, founder and Web master of Peer Amid, originally conceived of the idea for the venue.

Anderton said the venue began in early February and the crowd increases every week.

“We offer free refreshments and a casual atmosphere in which to socialize, study or perform your original work,” she said. “Our event is alcohol- and substance-free.

“Currently, we are seeking poets, writers, artists and musicians who want to perform or display their original works,” she added. “We are planning to unveil a two-act play in the near future and welcome performances by all kinds of cultural groups.”

Admission to the venue is free as the Peer Amid literary arts magazine, who sponsors the event, is a non-profit entity dedicated to improving the cultural scene in the Mon Valley Region.

The venue takes place every Tuesday night from 8 to 11 p.m. at Jozart Studios, located at 333 Second St. above the Dollar General store.
