Maryland village to host summer event, quilt show

GRANTSVILLE, Md. – Spruce Forest Artisan Village will hold its 25th annual Summer Festival and Quilt Show today through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days, rain or shine. The village is located on the Old National Road just east of Grantsville, Md., in northern Garrett County, just off Interstate 68, Exit 19 or 22. Festival goers can follow signs and billboards for Penn Alps Restaurant and Elliott House Victorian Inn, which are located adjacent to the village.

There is a $2 admission fee for children ages 6 to 12 and for $5 for anyone who the age of 12. Family Day on Sunday will offer family discounts and children’s activities throughout the afternoon. Sunday Family Day kicks off with an inspirational service at House of Yoder, with home church being led by the Rev. Earl Yoder. The festival opens at 11 a.m.

The festival features artists and crafters. Other features of the festival will include a limited number of 25th anniversary commemorative souvenir buttons upon admission; strolling musicians and entertainment throughout the entire festival; air-conditioned quilt show, food concessions; numerous herb and flower gardens; self-guided log cabin tours; door prizes; hand-stitched quilt raffle, with the quilt donated by Four Seasons Stitchery.
