Ligonier Valley event to feature crafters, artisans

LIGONIER – “Summer in the Ligonier Valley” sponsored by the Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce, will be held on Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the historic community located at the intersection of routes 711 and 30. The following crafters and artisans will be selling their art sand crafts on the Diamond in Ligonier.

They include Roger Young, pottery; Barb Golden, Ukrainian and Batik eggs, tole painting, and bears; Frank and Marianne Sincek, barnwood birdhouses and feeders, corn tassel wreaths; Marybeth Kuntz, hats and accessories;

Ruth Foertsch, appliqued denim; Diana Lorant, hand woven rugs, etc.; Ruth Emberg, hand-crafted baskets; Maureen Connors, wooden art;

Richard Kent, wood and antler carvings; Robert Ruffner, shaker boxes, clocks, stools, benches and shelves;

Elaine Roth, primitive dolls, pillows and barnwood wallhangers; Page Palfrey, tole and folk art on wood;

Penny Tennette, candles and potpourri; and Dana and Sarah Dailey, house portraits.

Face painting will be offered on the bandstand by the MOPS of Ligonier.

The Original Kettle Korn Man will be in town for the event.

Hrabal will provide music as band members stroll street and Bauer’s Buggy Rides will be offered.

Also, special food will be available such as soft pretzels in front of the Ligonier Newsstand and strawberry festival in Town Hall Community Room.

Lunch will be available at the Heritage United Methodist Church on the Diamond.

Ligonier merchants will hold their annual summer sidewalk sales on Friday and Saturday, July 26-27, during the summer crafts festival.
