AAFC to host children’s theater workshop this summer
SCOTTDALE – Actors and Artists of Fayette County Inc., resident theater company of Scottdale Showtime Theatre, will host a children’s theater workshop at the theater from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 22 through Aug. 2. Children will be involved in all areas of the production of a musical with instruction in acting, proper vocal technique and dance for stage.
In addition, they will have an opportunity to experience set construction, lighting, make-up and costuming.
At the conclusion of the two-week workshop, on Saturday Aug. 3, at 7 p.m., they will star in their own production of “DIG-IT,” a children’s musical.
Children must have completed fourth through eighth grades to enroll. The cost is $150 per child with a discount of $50 for any additional child living in the same household.
A mini workshop will be held for children having completed kindergarten through third grades the same dates as above from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
These children will also get a chance to perform on Aug. 3 as they sing and dance to songs appropriate for their age level. Cost for this mini workshop is $ 40 per child.
