Hoe-down round and square dancing, slow dancing, line dancing and clogging will be held on from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at the Brownfield Community Center in Dawson. Music and figure calling will be provided by Dave Dahl. The donation is $4 per person. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
A car show sponsored by Street Cruisers Unlimited & The Road Kings will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday on Beeson Avenue in downtown Uniontown to benefit Bit Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region. The event will offer raffles, giveaways, Chinese auction, 50/50, door prizes, food and beverages. A total of 40 trophies and dash plaques will be awarded. For more information, call 724-569-0665.
The Fayette County Youth Network will sponsor the third annual Rock the Park event from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Marshall Park, which is located near the Uniontown Public Library and Phil’s Corner Store. The fun-filled event will feature activities and prizes for youth and teens. Admission is free. Prizes such as T-shirts, CDs and Kennywood tickets will be given away during the event.
Wal-mart Car Show will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the store parking lot. Dash plaques, trophies and prizes will be awarded. The band Un-leded will play. Registration is $5. The event benefits the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Team.
Shady Grove Park will present a craft show and flea market from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the North Union Township facility. The event is free to buyers and sellers. For more information, call Shady Grove Park at 724-439-5630.
Classic Car Cruise will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Arctic Delite, which is located on Route 51 about three miles north of Uniontown. Trophies, oldies and door prizes are offered. A wooded plague will be given to any participant who has collected at least four dash plaques. A grand prize trophy for the season will be awarded. The cost is $5 for vehicle registration. Proceeds benefit the Fayette County American Cancer Society.
Carmichaels Senior Center will sponsor a dance from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. today. Admission is $5. The public is invited.

The Westmoreland County Historical Society will feature an exhibit of frontier art from Houston Art and Frame at Historic Hanna’s Town during its Colonial Court Days celebration on Saturday and Sunday. The exhibit will consist of artwork by local artists John Buxton and Robert Griffing and western artist Lee Teeter. Buxton will be available to discuss his paintings. The Hanna’s Town site will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The admission fee for the Colonial Court Days event is $5 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12 years. The 24th annual Butler Rodeo will be held today and Saturday at the Butler Farm Show Grounds, which is located on Route 68 about three miles west of Butler. Events sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association of Oklahoma City, Okla., will include bareback bronc riding, team roping, calf roping, cowgirl’s barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling and brahma bull riding. Gate prices are $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 4 to 12 on Thursday and Friday and $10 for adults and $5 for children on Saturday. For more information, call 724-865-9337.

Quilters from the four-state area will be featured in the Schoolhouse Quilters’ 23rd annual quilt show today and Saturday at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, Md. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $5 for adults and children 12 and under are free. More than 300 quilts will be showcased.
