Schedule listed for JazzFest
FARMINGTON – The schedule for Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa’s second annual JazzFest, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Jazz,” is as follows: Thursday, July 4
– Noon to 4 p.m., All-American Carnival and Cookout (Sundial Lodge). The event will feature games and activities, including a steel drum band, from 1 to 4 p.m.
– 3 to 6 p.m., Roger Humphries Big Band (Croquet Deck).
– 7 to 10:15 p.m., Featured performances by Billy Price and Spyro Gyra (Marquis Ballroom). The ticket price is $35.
– 10:30 p.m., Fireworks display.
Friday, July 5
– 2 to 3:30 p.m., Wine and Jazz (Grand Ballroom). The event will feature the wines of Bartolomeo Pio and the music by Sandy Dowe. The ticket price is $15.
– 7:15 to 8 p.m., Pre-concert reception featuring Harold Betters (LaFayette Gardens). The event is free.
– 8 to 10:45 p.m., Featured performances by Al Dowe, Etta Cox and Grammy Award nominee Karrin Allyson followed by an impromptu jam session starring the evening’s performers. (Marquis Ballroom). The ticket price is $25.
Saturday, July 6
– 1 to 2 p.m., Cooking with Jazz (Lecture Hall). Cooking demonstration by Scott Cape, Nemacolin Woodlands’ executive chef. Music will be provided by Frank and Lori Trio. The ticket price is $15.
– 5:15 to 6 p.m., Pre-concert reception featuring the Kenny Blake Quartet (LaFayette Gardens). Admission is free.
– 6 to 7:15 p.m., Featured performance by Maynard Ferguson and his Big Bop Nouveau Band (Marquis Ballroom). The ticket price is $30.
– 7:45 to 8:30 p.m., Pre-concert reception featuring Roger Humphries (LaFayette Gardens). Admission is free.
– 8:30 to 10 p.m., Featured performances by Ahmad Jamal (Marquis Ballroom). The ticket price is $35.
Sunday, July 7
– 9:30 to 11 a.m., Jazz brunch with Etta Cox. Reservations are required. The cost is $56 for adults and $28 for children ages 6 to 12.
