Fireworks to light up sky during Independence Day bash set for June 30 in Fayette County
The Fayette Chamber of Commerce announced the annual Fayette County Independence Day Celebration and Cookoff will be held on Sunday, June 30, at the Uniontown Mall in the open field near Sears. Admission is only $2 per person, and children 12 and under are free. The event starts at noon, and the fireworks finale will begin at 9:30 p.m.
The celebration will begin with wings, ribs and entertainment by The Billy Price Band, The Poverty Neck Hillbillies (sponsored by Froggy 94.9) and The Brass Knuckles Band.
Participating restaurants include Ruse’s Roost Restaurant & Catering, The Boston Beanery, Holiday Inn of Uniontown, Richey’s Barbara Joyce, Caileigh’s Thompson Tavern, Back Bay Restaurant and Stone House Restaurant.
Fireworks will color the darkened sky around 9:30 p.m., bringing the celebration to a close. The event is sponsored by members of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce and Crown America, Albert Gallatin Home Care & Hospice, Froggy 94.9, the Uniontown Herald-Standard and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa.

The Billy Price Band, well known throughout the area for rhythm and blues, has been selected as the headliner for the event.
The Billy Price Band will be joined this year by regionally known favorites, including The Poverty Neck Hillbillies sponsored by Froggy radio 94.9 and The Brass Knuckles Band.
A “Classic Cars” car show and a moonwalk, bumper boats, a kiddy play land and a variety of games for children will be offered.
