The first of four Family Archaeology Days at historic Hanna’s Town will be held on Saturday. The program, which runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon, consists of hands-on archaeology activities for the family, such as screening and washing artifacts. A tour of the Hanna’s Town site is included with the admission fee of $3 for adults and $2 children under the age of 12 years. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled. The number of participants is limited. Call 724-836-1800 for information and reservations.

Free storytelling strolling history tours of Washington are set for Saturday and Sunday. Interested individuals, families and groups should meet in front of Citizens Library, located at the corner of South College and East Wheeling streets at 1:30 or 3:30 p.m. Local history buffs Bill Keene, John Leggett and Joe Thomas will guide walkers on a loop around Washington, sharing the history and interesting stories of the many landmarks and places of significance in Washington. Each tour will take approximately two hours with a rest stop and water break halfway at the LeMoyne House. Highlights of the tour will include the campus of Washington & Jefferson College, the B&O Railroad Station, the Pennsylvania Railroad station, the courthouse, the Bradford House and the LeMoyne House, Pennsylvania’s first stop on the Underground Railroad.
