Chandler to bring pop-rock sound to Uniontown
Chandler, a pop-rock band from Beaver County, will perform Saturday at the Long Branch Saloon, which is located in Oliver Plaza on Route 51 in Uniontown. The group featuring the Semenko sisters – triplets Stephanie, Kristin and Melissa – is currently touring with country star Kenny Rogers.
The Beaver Valley natives are managed and produced by Ford City area native Bob Corbin, a veteran hit singer-songwriter. Corbin is also expected to attend Chandler’s performance at the Long Branch Saloon.
The triplets, who selected the name of Chandler to represent their band that also plays country tunes, are no strangers to the spotlight.
They have modeled regionally and nationally for Vidal Sasson and have appeared in national television commercials.
The triplets were chosen by television-audience vote as the best sibling performs on the Rikki Lake Show. The triplets also did several promo spots for HBO.
They were in Los Angeles filming a commerical when an offer for a sitcom came their way. But they turned it down because they wanted to sing.
The triplets also turned down a big-name L.A. music producer because he wanted to transform them into a white female rap group.
As much they wanted to sing, the Semenko sisters said they wanted to sing the kind of music they liked.
When they returned to western Pennsylvania, they hooked up with Corbin and area building a music career doing the eclectic kind of music they prefer.
Their vocal harmonies come naturally, with each seeming to know by instinct what the other girls are going to do.
During the past few years, Chandler has performed in colleges, nightclubs and various outdoor events in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
