Students in the Uniontown Area Senior High School will present the annual Fall One-Act plays at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9, in the Margaret A. Emelson Auditorium. Students have been rehearsing two plays with a common hillbilly theme. The first one-act show is an old-style melodrama entitled “The Belles of Horsefly Gulch.” It concerns the efforts of a poor widow lady to find suitable mates for her two daughters to keep the villain from foreclosing on the homestead.

Students appearing in this production include Laura Kish, Sarah Howarth, Becky Rozak, Nick Serra, Chris Nguyen, Adam Lucidi, Jesse Heslop, Anthony Gulino, Dan Johnson, Ron Milne and Amanda Emery.

The second one-act play is a mini-musical production entitled “Fussin’ and a-Feudin.” Its plot revolves around a feud between the Tollivers and the Calhouns. The dispute ends to the satisfaction of all with the impending marriage of Emmy Lou, a Tolliver, and Lee Roy, a Calhoun.

Appearing in major singing roles are Ron Milne, Katy Brittingham, Jesse Heslop, Sara Peskie, Anthony Gulino, Meg Thompson, Katie Coburn, Alicia Omiros and Arta Faye Hruby. The cast also includes Ashley Lowery, Jayme Borris, Jessica Spaw, Marcie Collins, Chris Nguygen, Nick Serra, Adam Lucidi, Marissa Flesher, Sarah Partridge, Dan Johnson, Stephanie Clay, Tricia Cesarino, Talena Dotson and Jarel Settles. Ron Bronson will direct the production with Matthew Dowling serving as student director. The stage crew is under the supervision of Robert Caldwell with technical support by Kenny Hager.

The price of admission is $3. Tickets will be available at the door.
