The Friends of Goodwill will hold their annual craft show and deluxe soup and salad bar luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Uniontown Country Club. For reservations, call 724-439-3295.
Carmichaels Senior Center will sponsor a dance from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. today. The Hollow Run Band will provide country music. Admission is $5. The public is invited. The center is now taking reservations for the New Year’s Eve Party. The Best of Times Band will perform on New Year’s Eve.
Confluence Lions Club will sponsor a sausage and Irish potato pancake dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Turkeyfoot Valley School Cafeteria. The menu includes two one-quarter pound sausage patties, Irish potato pancakes and sour cream, applesauce, green beans, roll and butter, cake, coffee and orange drink. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 12. Children under age 6 are admitted free. Tickets are on sale at Confluence Hardware, Hartman’s in Confluence, Addison Superette or at the door. At 7 p.m., the Seldom Scene Players will perform the play “Somebody Save My Baby Ruth” in the school auditorium. Donations will be accepted for the show.
Deadlines for both high school and college divisions of the 64 Crayons Short-Play Writing Contest have been extended to today. The 24th annual Homecoming and Christmas Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Greene Academy in Carmichaels. The historic academy will be decorated in the Victorian Christmas style by the Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club and the members of the Carmichaels Area High School National Honor Society. The Civic Club will serve hot food in the academy kitchen. The academy will serve free wassail, hot chocolate and cookies. A door prize will be given away.

Hoe-down round and square dancing, slow dancing, line dancing and clogging will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. today at the Arthurdale Center Hall in Arthurdale, W.Va. The donation is $4 per person. Children 12 and under are admitted free. The Dave Dahl Trio will provide music and figure calling.
Holiday Craft Show will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fallowfield Township Fire Hall in Charleroi. Proceeds will benefit the Fallowfield Township Volunteer Fire Company. Door prizes and raffles will be offered. A bake sale will be held. Call 724-483-8426.
