‘Moon Over Buffalo’ to shine in Scottdale
SCOTTDALE – Actors and Artists of Fayette County will present “Moon Over Buffalo,” as their October production at Scottdale Showtime Theatre today through Sunday. Written by Ken Ludwig, “Moon Over Buffalo” premiered on Broadway at the Martin Beck Theatre on Oct. 1, 1995. During its Broadway run, it starred Carol Burnett, Lynn Redgrave, Robert Goulet and was nominated for best play.
“Moon Over Buffalo,” a classic farce, tells the story of George and Charlotte Hay, two aging actors, their family and associates as they deal with the stress of touring and dreams long lost. Making up the cast are Debi Anderson as Charlotte, Richard R. Davis as George, Karen Miedel as Roz, Paul Appleby as Paul, Dottie Davis as Ethel, Toby Maykuth as Howard and Georg R. Banks as Richard.
Richard B. Davis is the director with Janet Keibler as stage manager and Jim Anderson as technical director. AAFC will present “Moon Over Buffalo” for one week only. Curtain times are 8:15 p.m. today and Saturday and 3:15 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $8 and are available at the theater box or by calling 724-887-0887. Tickets will also be available at the door. Actors and Artists of Fayette County, Scottdale Showtime Theatre and the Lido Cafe will offer Luncheon Before the Lights at 7 p.m. today. Luncheon Before the Lights is a brief program about the AAFC show, a light supper consisting of a deli-style sandwich, a pasta salad, a fruit salad, desert, beverage and a ticket to Friday’s performance. The cost is just $18. Reservations for Luncheon Before the Lights are required.
