Guests to sample local wine during event

2 min read

BROWNSVILLE – The Brownsville Area Revitalization Corp. (BARC) announced a special wine tasting will be held 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Brownsville Sons of Italy, which is located on Water Street. This wine tasting is made special by the participation of a local club of wine makers who have donated their wines to be tasted.

Club members will be available to provide insights into how their wine was made. Italian appetizers will also be served.

The local wine makers club consists of Richard Quarzo, Rick Quarzo, Ken Shumar, John Chan, Richard Dascenzo, Dr. Allan Sally and Charles Britivich.

The club meets on Mondays to compare their wines as the complexity of these wines changes over time.

Members of the club primarily produce California wines such as Cabernet, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot and Zinfandel.

This special wine tasting offers wine connoisseurs an opportunity to taste extraordinary wines that are locally produced and unavailable on the market.

Come taste the difference. Because of the limited quantity of wine available, the event will be restricted to 50 wine tasters.

Advanced tickets are $3 per person.

Tickets can be obtained by calling 724-785-9331 or by visiting the Flatiron Heritage Center, which is located at 69 Market St., Brownsville.

Participants are encouraged to dress in the native colors of Italy , which are red, green and white, to set the mood for the special wine-tasting event.

For more information, contact the Flatiron Building at 724-785-9331.
