Parrot Heads can see Buffett impersonator in Uniontown
Parrot Heads don’t have to wait to see the real thing. Pittsburgh’s finest Jimmy Buffett impersonator, Tom Watt, who is also known as the “Buffett Man,” will come to Uniontown tonight when he will bring the songs of Jimmy Buffett to Mahoney’s Bar & Grill, 58 E. Fayette St. Watt has been entertaining audiences and music lovers for many years. Watt uses his casual style, along with his guitar and his incredible voice, to create the perfect party atmosphere for his audience. His singing talent was discovered in his boyhood, but the ability to imitate many other voices was developed much later. He developed these talents as a hobby while he was entertaining guests at parties and also while he was singing lead vocals in the cover band, “Ivy.” He also sang with the Saint James Folk Singers in the 1970s. During his college days, Watt studied with former Metropolitan Opera coach Helen Elbin. He sang gospel music in the 1980s and recorded his own album, “Up Where We Belong.”
Watt has increasingly shared his love of Jimmy Buffett’s music with his audiences during the past three years. This has quickly become the dominant force in Watt’s shows. He combines special equipment with live acoustic guitar and vocal performances to capture the true spirit of the Buffett experience. When he isn’t entertaining crowds in clubs and at private parties from western Pennsylvania to Key West, Fla., he can be found cruising the waters of Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers in his boat.
