Uniontown chorale to kick off 28th season with show
The Greater Uniontown Chorale will kick off its 28th season on Sunday, Oct. 27, with a presentation of Howard Hanson’s “Song of Democracy” inspired by the poetry of Walt Whitman and John Rutter’s “Requiem” accompanied by oboe and cello. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of Asbury United Methodist Church in Uniontown. The 40-member community choral group, dubbed the “Official Musical Voice of Uniontown,” offers this concert, not only as its first of the new season, but also as a triumphant post-tour presentation after its musical trip to West Chester to perform with the Chester County Choral Society.
In addition to the Hanson and Rutter works, the chorale will perform Alice Parker’s arrangement of “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal,” Will James’ “Hear My Prayer,” “Then Will the Very Rocks Cry Out” by Mark Hayes and “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” by John Rutter.
Chorale director is William M. Dreucci and the accompanist is Joanna Ball.
