Cal U to host juried art show
CALIFORNIA – The Department of Art and Design, along with The Associated Artists of California University of Pennsylvania and the university’s Student Association Inc., are sponsoring the annual intercollegiate-juried Exhibition. The Annual Intercollegiate Juried Exhibition of undergraduate student artwork will be on display through Wednesday, April 30, at the award-winning Gallery of Fine Art located on the third floor of the university’s Manderino Library.
The exhibition will again present art created in a variety of mediums. Invitations to submit two art works to by juried are extended to undergraduate students attending any of more than 30 colleges and universities in Southwestern Pennsylvania and the nearby West Virginia region.
This year’s juror is John Smith, assistant director of collections and research, from Pittsburgh’s Andy Warhol Museum.
Smith contributed his expertise as an archivist for the Andy Warhol Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, England, where he was an exchange archivist.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The gallery is closed on Friday.
