Organist to play at local church
CONNELLSVILLE – As part of the 2002-03 club season, the Connellsville Mozart Music Club will present organist, Jason Keefer, in concert on Tuesday, May 6, at Wesley United Methodist Church. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Keefer, a native of Uniontown, is music director and organist at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Uniontown. Since 1999, he has conducted the adult chancel and bell choirs and children’s chime and vocal ensembles. He also oversees the church recital series.
He received his bachelor of science in music education in 1999 at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y. In early May of this year, he will receive his master of music degree in sacred music and organ performance from Duquesne University. He has performed locally at the Asbury United Methodist and Trinity Presbyterian churches of Uniontown.
The public is invited to the May 6 concert. Although there is no charge for the program, donations will be accepted.
The church is located on South Pittsburgh Street in Connellsville.
