Lecture slated SCOTTDALE – West Overton Museums in Scottdale announces the second winter “Parlor Talk” lecture series at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, in the distillery theater.
This second lecture is titled “The West Overton Herbs” with Dr. Susan Sommers, an associate professor in the St. Vincent History Department.
Sommers has written various history articles and books for publication. She is also involved with the St. Vincent Garden Club and coordinates faculty and students for maintenance of the flower gardens at the college.
The lecture is free and includes a question-and-answer session followed by light refreshments. Reservations are requested, but walk-ins are welcome. For more information, call 724-887-7910. West Overton Museums is located on Route 819 between Scottdale and Mount Pleasant.
Theater festival set
CALIFORNIA – California University of Pennsylvania’s department of theater and dance is hosting this year’s Washington County Theater Festival from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday.
Classes on a various array of topics will begin at 9 a.m. each day and will be held in the Natali Student Center’s Performance Center in Steele Auditorium, and in the dance studio in Hamer Hall, room 131.
