AG students to reunite Crenshaw family on stage
YORK RUN – Albert Gallatin Senior High School Drama Department will present the play “Crenshaw Family Reunion” at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the high school auditorium. Tickets cost $2 per person and can be purchased at the door.
Cast members include Angela Allison, Jessica Brown, Daron Christopher, Brandon Huseman, Brian Huseman, Tim Kelly, Jan Koposko, Laura Koposko, Ale Muzika, Anne Pallmann, Jack Rosensteel and Matt Swaney.
Stage manager is Jennifer Smithley. Alex Benevent and Molly Newman are in charge of lights and sound. Sara Grimplin and Elizabeth Shaffer will make the props and costumes. Jackie Davis and Jeanne Fike are the show’s directors.
The play begins when the Crenshaws hold a family reunion every five years, which could be too often.
The ill-fated reunions are always such disastrous affairs that everyone wishes they were orphans.
This year, young Teddy takes his new wife, Susan, home to meet the clan and winds up kidnapped – along with everyone else – because no one showed up at the last reunion at Aunt Sophie’s, and she’s ready for revenge. Teddy and Susan are the narrators and occasionally speak directly to the audience in storytelling style.
Although Teddy and Susan are the most normal of the Crenshaws, Davis said the audience responds well to the other family lunatics.
