State Theatre plans fund-raising dinner

2 min read

The 12th annual Progressive Dinner, one of the biggest fund-raising events for the State Theatre Center for the Arts located in Uniontown, will be held on Saturday, April 26. Planning for this event is currently under way, and organizers said community support is needed.

The evening begins with hosts and hostesses, who open their homes to invited guests for cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres. Then it is on the way to various other homes for soup and salad and the main course.

The final stop is at the State Theatre, where desserts will be served along with entertainment and a silent auction. Organizers said this event is a major fund-raiser for the State Theatre.

Residents can help the State Theatre by donating a gift or a service for the auction, or by making a contribution to the State Theatre Progressive Dinner.

This year’s silent auction will be more intimate than in the past. Fewer packages will be auctioned in an effort to highlight each business within the package. Donors will be recognized in the Progressive Dinner Program, as well as in the 2003-04 Opening Night Program. Anyone, who would like to donate a gift or service or would like to make a monetary contribution, is asked to contact the State Theatre at 724-439-1360 or mail a donation to The State Theatre Center for the Arts, 27 E. Main St., Uniontown, attention: Progressive Dinner Auction. Someone from the State Theatre will contact donors within a few weeks to arrange a convenient date for picking up any donated items. Anyone who is interested in attending this event is asked call 724-439-1360.

and an invitation will be mailed.
