PSO to perform special outreach concert to benefit at-risk students
Continuing its ongoing commitment to bringing great music to every member of the community, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform a special outreach concert benefiting the students served by Communities In Schools. The event is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the Laurel Highlands High School auditorium in Uniontown.
The event marks the 10th year that the entire symphony has traveled to Fayette County. Last year’s concert was widely attended, and this year’s event proves to be equally anticipated by area residents.
PSO conductor, Daniel Meyer, will conduct the symphony as they perform music from “The Patriot” and Aaron Copeland’s “Rodeo” among other selections at the Laurel Highlands High School auditorium. In keeping with a long-running tradition, immediately following the concert, guests will be treated to a complimentary old-fashioned ice cream social located at the outdoor courtyard. Local entertainment will be provided while guests have an opportunity to mingle with the PSO musicians. Tickets an be purchased at outlets throughout the Fayette County area including Ellis Music Store, Judy’s Do-Re-Me Music Shop in Uniontown Christian W. Klay Winery at Chalk Hill, Uniontown Mall Customer Service Desk, Youghiogheny Station in Connellsville and the Communities In School office.
