Recipe: Hot Chocolate
Yield: 4 servings
¾ cup half and half
½ cup milk chocolate chips
½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups heavy cream
2 teaspoons chocolate syrup
2 heaping teaspoons cocoa powder
Dash of pure vanilla extract
Pinch of sea salt
4 jumbo marshmallows, roasted
4 mini candy canes
Procedure:
1. In a medium sized saucepan over medium-low heat, slowly heat the half and half until it is just warm. Add the chocolate chips to the half and half and stir with a rubber spatula until they are completely melted and smooth.
2. Add the heavy cream to the pan and continue stirring occasionally until the hot chocolate begins to very lightly simmer.
3. Add the chocolate syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and sea salt to the hot chocolate and whisk until thoroughly combined.
4. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs, garnish each mug with a roasted jumbo marshmallow and mini candy cane, and serve immediately.
