Get out and GO! Shows to consider this weekend
Buddy Jewell looks to shine Friday at Whiskey Rhythm in Monaca.
The Arkansas native was the first-ever winner of USA Network’s singing contest “Nashville Star,” where he topped some gal named Miranda Lambert.
Jewell’s 2003 big-label debut yielded two Billboard Country Top-10s “Help Pour Out the Rain (Lacey’s Song)” and “Sweet Southern Comfort.”
Opening the 9 p.m. show will be local country band Mad Dog Rodeo, which also will take the stage after Jewell’s scheduled 10:30 p.m. set to keep Whiskey Rhythm’s “Hillbilly Halloween” party rolling. There’s a costume contest with a $200 prize.
Tickets for the show are $10.

Meghan Trainor wasn’t talking about Halloween costumes when she said “I won’t be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll,” on her big-booty-is-beautiful summer smash “All About That Bass.”
Trainor can leave the Barbie-look, literally, to fellow popsters Fifth Harmony, whom she joins on the bill of Friday’s all-ages 96.1-FM Halloween Concert at Stage AE.
Fifth Harmony signed a partnership with Barbie that will include dolls bearing the likeness of the vocal group’s five members, who also sang the new Barbie brand anthem, “Anything is Impossible,” aimed at being a girl empowerment tune. The quintet’s summer single “Bo$$” also was marketed as a salute to female independence, in case lyrics like “I’m a Maybach and you’s a Volvo” left you puzzled.
Meanwhile, ready to make young female fans swoon Friday will be the 8 p.m. concert’s third national act, Miami hip-hop/pop artist Jake Miller, 21, who many predict will have a huge 2015. His growing fan base already has its obligatory nickname — the Millertary. They nearly shut down Times Square the last time he hosted a meet-and-greet there after a “Live from MTV” appearance.
Tickets are $38.60.

Miley Cyrus’ much-tattooed brother, Trace Cyrus, and his pop-rock band Metro Station will pull into Pittsburgh for a Saturday all-ages show at Altar Bar.
Cyrus formed Metro Station with Mason Musso — older brother of Miley’s former “Hannah Montana” co-star Mitchel Musso — scoring a 2008 Top-10 single, “Shake It”. The duo will co-headline the Strip District stage with Warped Tour regulars the Ready Set whose “Give Me Your Hand (Best Song Ever)” you might remember from last year’s “Smurfs 2” trailer.
Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door for the 6:30 p.m. show that also includes pop-punk band the Downtown Fiction and the pride of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., young pop band Against the Current.
