How Western Pennsylvania affected World War II on display in the “We Can Do It!” WWII exhibit at the Heinz History Center, 1212 Smallman St., Pittsburgh, through Jan. 4, 2016. Developed by the History Center, this 10,000 square-foot exhibition will focus on Pittsburgh’s role on both the home front and the battlefield during World War II. The exhibition will explore the development of the Jeep, a uniquely American invention produced by the American Bantam Car Company in Butler and reveal the stories behind real-life “Rosie the Riveters” and local Tuskegee Airmen.

Foster and Muriel McCarl Coverlet Gallery at St. Vincent College will present an exhibit, A Sense of Wonder: The Nature Writing of Rachel Carson, through Sept. 4. Exhibit hours are noon-3 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday, 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday and at other times by appointment. In addition to its regular exhibition, during Steelers training camp, Foster and Muriel McCarl Coverlet Gallery will present selections from July 26 to Aug. 22. The exhibition is comprised of more than 25 original Lithographic and Giclée prints that feature some of the most famous sports figures in Pittsburgh Steelers football history.

Area students in grades seven through 12 can join the 304 Photo Club, which will meet twice monthly at Monongalia Arts Center, 101 High St., Morgantown. Meetings will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. every other Tuesday. Students taking part in the club, hosted by local photographer David Smith, will learn the basics of digital photography, lighting and composition, as well as more advanced techniques.
