The following films are scheduled to open in theaters this weekend and some may be available On Demand.

The movies coming to a theater near you (with all release dates subject to change) include:

Censored Voices,” with Mor Loushy directing an unrated documentary about a 1967 event in which, according to imdb.com, “the ‘Six-Day’ war ended with Israel’s decisive victory; conquering Jerusalem, Gaza, Sinai and the West Bank.”

Close Range,” with Scott Adkins, Nick Chinlund and Caitlin Keats in an unrated crime tale about a brother who uses his military skills to protect his sister and her daughter from local villains and members of a drug cartel. Isaac Florentine (“High Voltage”) directed.

The Danish Girl,” with Eddie Redmayne, Alicia Vikander, Amber Heard, Ben Whishaw and Matthias Schoenaerts in a critically acclaimed R-rated factual drama about transgender pioneer Lili Elbe.

Redmayne is the early favorite to win this year’s best-actor Oscar for his challenging performance in the title role. Tom Hooper (“The King’s Speech”) directed.

Don Verdean,” with Sam Rockwell, Amy Ryan, Danny McBride, Will Forte and Leslie Bibb in a PG-13 comedy about a local pastor who launches a campaign to find sacred relics in the Holy Land and then attempts to hide his failure. Jared Hess (“Napoleon Dynamite”) directed.

Hitchcock/Truffaut,” with Mathieu Amalric, Wes Anderson, Peter Bogdanovich, David Fincher, Richard Linklater, Paul Schrader and Martin Scorsese in a PG-13 documentary on the famous exchange between Francois Truffaut and Alfred Hitchcock.

The subjects are seen via archive footage. Kent Jones (co-director of “A Letter to Elia”) directed.

In the Heart of the Sea,” with Chris Hemsworth, Ben Whishaw, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson and Benjamin Walker in a PG-13 epic ocean adventure about a sperm whale’s attack on a whaling crew, an event that inspired Herman Melville to write “Moby Dick.” Ron Howard (“Apollo 13”) directed.

Macbeth,” with Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard and David Thewlis in a blood-drenched, R-rated adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy about an ambitious Scottish couple with brutal instincts. Justin Kurzel (“The Snowtown Murders”) directed.

The Ridiculous 6,” with Adam Sandler, Whitney Cummings, Taylor Lautner, Steve Buscemi, Terry Crews, Danny Trejo, Will Forte, Harvey Keitel, Nick Nolte, Luke Wilson, Rob Schneider, David Spade and John Turturro in an unrated frontier spoof about six half-brothers gunning for their deadbeat dad.
