An adult romance (“5 Flights Up”), a classic drama (“Far From the Madding Crowd”) and a road comedy (“Hot Pursuit”) are among the titles arriving for this Mother’s Day weekend.

The films coming soon to a theater near you (with all dates highly subject to change) include:

5 Flights Up,” with Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton in a PG-13 drama about a couple who face emotional challenges when it comes time to vacate the New York apartment they have lived in for years. Richard Loncraine (“Firewall”) directed.

About Elly,” with Golshifteh Farahani in an unrated drama about a kindergarten teacher in Iran whose disappearance precedes a series of misadventures for the travelers who accompanied her. Asghar Farhadi (“The Past”) directed.

Far From the Madding Crowd,” with Carey Mulligan, Juno Temple, Matthias Schoenaerts and Michael Sheen in a Victorian-era PG-13 drama based on Thomas Hardy’s novel about a young woman with very different suitors. Thomas Vinterberg (“Jagten”) directed.

The D Train,” with Jack Black, James Marsden, Mariana Paola Vicente and Jeffrey Tambor in this R-rated comedy about a high-school reunion committee member who, according to imdb.com, travels from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles to try and convince the most popular guy in his class to attend the event. Filmmakers Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul make their directing debuts.

Hot Pursuit,” with Sofia Vergara, Reese Witherspoon, Michael Mosley and Robert Kazinsky in a PG-13 action comedy about a bumbling policewoman assigned to protect a drug dealer’s widow. They then struggle to elude lethal criminals and crooked cops. Anne Fletcher (“The Proposal”) directed.

Ride,” with Helen Hunt and Luke Wilson in an R-rated comedy drama about a controlling woman who wants to continue to be a helicopter parent by following her son from New York to California where he plans to become a surfer, a challenging skill that the mother also decides to conquer. Hunt (“Then She Found Me”) also directed. (Also available on Video on Demand.)

Welcome to Me,” with Kristen Wiig, Linda Cardellini, James Marsden, Wes Bentley, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Tim Robbins in an R-rated dark comedy about a woman who has borderline personality disorder, wins millions in the lottery, stops taking her mediations and uses her winnings to purchase her own talk show.
