”The North Pole Express–Befana Saves Christmas” presented by Stage Right, 7 p.m. Dec. 2, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 3, Greensburg Garden and Civic Center. The show tells the story of the North Pole Express, headed to the North Pole with some lucky kids to meet Santa. Can the conductor, the kids and Befana get there in time? Will Christmas be saved? Kids receive a special Christmas bell and golden ticket at each performance and are invited to have cookies and milk with Santa before every show. The Classic Film Series at the State Theatre Center for the Arts in Uniontown 2016-17 season presents “A Christmas Story” (Dec. 16); “The Wild Bunch” (Jan. 27); “Barefoot in the Park” (Feb. 17); “Clue” (March 10); “Coal Miner’s Daughter” (April 7); “A Hard Day’s Night” (May 12); “Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House” (June 23); “Ghostbusters” (July 21); and “Taxi Driver” (Aug. 18). Pittsburgh Public Theater’s “Between Riverside and Crazy,” Nov. 10-Dec. 11 at the O’Reilly Theater, Pittsburgh. This winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize tells the story of a retired police officer and the family that makes up his chaotic home. ”The Happy Elf” will be presented by California University of Pennsylvania students and community members Dec. 8-11 in Steele Hall Mainstage Theatre. The production, based on a song by Harry Connick Jr., will tell the story of Eubie the Elf, whose rose-colored view of the holiday season is put to the test when he starts to bring Christmas Joy to the town of Bluesville. Performances are 7 p.m. Dec. 8, 9 and 10 and 2 p.m. Dec. 10 and 11. Tickets are $12 for all patrons. Students with valid CalCards are admitted for 50 cents. Greensburg Civic Theater to hold auditions for the musical comedy, “The Wedding Singer” 6-9 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center, 951 Old Salem Road, Greensburg. The cast of eight plus ensemble has parts for men and women ages 20-80. Those auditioning must prepare a one minute monologue of their choice and 16-32 bars of an up-tempo pop rock musical song. Geyer Performing Arts Center auditions for “Hair” 6-9 p.m. Dec. 9 and 2-5 p.m. Dec. 10. Callbacks will be held Dec. 11. Those wishing to audition should come prepared with 16-32 bars of rock, pop or soul songs. Songs from the show are not required but are encouraged. A cold reading might also be needed. There will be a light-dance portion to call-backs. Auditions are open to only those 16 or older and parents of actors under 18 must have a meeting with the directors before casting is announced.

Jozart Center for the Arts in California will continue the Wine & Line program 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. ”Off-Road,” a multidisciplinary exhibit by Sarah Keeling and hosted by The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, will be on view Nov. 18-Jan.22 at 707 Penn Gallery, at 707 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh. Keeling uses images and hand-made objects to explore subtext within the representation of landscape scenes. An opening reception will be held 5:30-8 p.m. Nov. 18. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The Domesticity of Abandonment: A Multimedia Exhibition will run Dec. 9-Jan. 29 at SPACE in Pittsburgh. The exhibit looks at the idea of abandonment from a variety of angles and how it impact people around the globe. A special opening reception will be held 5:30 p.m. Dec.9 and will also be on view during Highmark First Night Pittsburgh and the Cultural District Gallery Crawl on Jan. 20.
