Western PA natives find home on HGTV’s ‘House Hunters’
Viewers of HGTV’s “House Hunters” on Sept. 23 will see two western Pennsylvanians buy their first house together.
“Buying a house is strenuous,” said Josh Himes, a Monaca native and pro boxer, said.
“It brings a lot of headaches and joy.”
The 10 p.m. “House Hunters” episode sends a camera crew along as Himes and his wife, Brynn Marie, a Greene County native, go house hunting in Nashville where they relocated to better suit her career as a country singer.
As the show’s format dictates, the couple is taken to three prospective houses where they share their likes and concerns about each property.
HGTV’s website lays out the drama: “She wants a ranch with hardwood floors throughout, and a big backyard.
But he’s not into ranch style homes, loves carpeted bedrooms, and thinks they travel too much to maintain a big yard.”
Filmed last December, “it was a great experience,” Himes said, noting the cameras captured both the highs and lows.
“They caught those moments where we’re butting heads, but then later coming to an agreement,” he said.
“Seeing the whole process unfold is cool.”
Himes, a former Pennsylvania Golden Gloves boxing champion, turned pro a few years ago. His record is 8-2.
Marie, originally from Greene County, has been in the studio recently recording her next single. She has been featured by country music’s CMT channel and had a nationally released single “Bandaid on a Bullethole.”
