Henry Rollins “Slide Show,” presented by the Andy Warhol Museum 8 p.m. Sept. 22 at Carnegie Lecture Hall (Oakland). Rollins is a spoken word artist, musician, actor, author, and iconic cultural gadfly, Henry Rollins. He returns with “Slide Show”, a special performance drawing on his traveling experiences, including the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, South America, and Antarctica, and his vast archive of photographs. The Fayette County Law Library presents “Kara Zimcosky McClellandtown, the August Artist. Her “Kara Krystal Jewelry Collection” will be on display through Aug. 29. The library is located on the second floor of the courthouse. The public is invited, admission is free and the library is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays. Law Library is closed from noon to 1 p.m. every day.
”Crossroads: Carnegie Museum of Art’s Collection, 1945 to Now,” is on display at the Carnegie Museum of Art. The museum has reimagined their postwar and contemporary galleries, bringing together rarely seen works and old favorites to tell stories that resonate today. ”Conglomeration” – Four local artists (Francis Cleetus, Paula Martino, Manjushree Roy, and Gabby Walker) will be displaying their work in this new show at Greensburg Garden & Civic Center. The exhibit will run through Aug. 31.
”Growing the Collection: Architecture” exhibition at the Carnegie Museum of Art, in the Heinz Architectural Center now through Aug. 19. How do architects explore ideas? This exhibition features drawings, models, and photographs acquired by The Heinz Architectural Center within the past three years.
Teenie Harris Photographs: Around the Clock” exhibition now through Sept. 3 in the Carnegie Museum of Art lobby. For several prolific decades, Charles “Teenie” Harris was seemingly everywhere. Teenie Harris Photographs: Around The Clock collects 25 images that tell the stories of how one individual managed to document the complete experience of a community.
”Created, Collected, Conserved: The Life Stories of Paintings” exhibition Oct. 7-Nov. 1, in the Scaife Galleries at the Carnegie Museum of Art. The exhibition follows seven of the museum’s paintings over thousands of miles, showing how extensive research and new technology can uncover fascinating stories.
Pittsburgh Society of Artists Guild (PSA) presents their 2018 Artist’s Choice Exhibition at the Brew House Association, 711 S. 21st St., Pittsburgh. This exhibition opened to the public earlier this month and is an unjuried show that gives PSA members the opportunity to exhibit works of their choice. This show will feature a variety of styles, subjects, and mediums rarely seen in a traditionally curated exhibition. The Art of the Brick: Lego art exhibition at the Carnegie Science Center now through Jan. 7, by artist Nathan Sawaya, which will include original artworks and versions of well-known masterpieces such as Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and a 20-foot-long T. rex dinosaur skeleton. When you’re finished touring the exhibition, explore Science of the Brick, a hub for hands-on play, featuring 17 activity tables with brick building challenges and interactives, plus free-play and demonstration areas. Create your own brick masterpieces, build a maze out of LEGO bricks, compose a melody using a music box made from LEGO bricks, build cars and race them, and more. The purchase of a ticket to the exhibit is required for access to Science of the Brick. Due to the popularity of this exhibit, the science center is offering timed ticketing. Adman: Warhol Before Pop exhibit at the Andy Warhol Museum is on display through Sept. 2. With the backdrop of 1950s New York and its burgeoning advertising industry, the exhibit focuses on the formative years of one of the 20th century’s most influential artists. The exhibit is free with museum admission.

The Carnegie Museum of Natural History is working to transform their current Walton Hall into a new exhibit called “Egypt on the Nile” and they are looking for your feedback. Dr. Erin Peters, Carnegie’s joint assistant curator of science and research and lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh, will be hosting a series of five monthly meetings for those who are able to attend the entire series. Dinner consisting of sandwiches or salads and free parking will be available to anyone available to attend. The meetings will occur on the third Thursday of every month beginning in July, and the group will share ideas and discuss primary themes and major sections of the future exhibition.
