The Art of the Brick: lego art exhibition at the Carnegie Science Center June 16 through Jan. 7, 2019, by artist Nathan Sawaya, which will include original artworks and versions of well-known masterpieces such as Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and a20-foot-long T. rex dinosaur skeleton. When you’re finished touring the exhibition, explore Science of the Brick, a hub for hands-on play, featuring 17 activity tables with brick building challenges and interactives, plus free-play and demonstration areas. Create your own brick masterpieces, build a maze out of LEGO bricks, compose a melody using a music box made from LEGO bricks, build cars and race them, and more. The purchase of a ticket to the exhibit is required for access to Science of the Brick. Due to the popularity of this exhibit, the science center is offering timed ticketing. The Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance has announced the availability of grant funds for arts organizations, community-based groups and individual artists to apply for up to $2,500 in funding to support performance activities, exhibitions and other arts projects that are presented to the public. Funding events must take place between Sept. 1, 2018, and Aug. 31, 2019. The deadline for the grant submission is June 20. Adman: Warhol Before Pop exhibit at the Andy Warhol Museum is now on display through Sept. 2.
