"Saving the Greeks: One Tragedy at a Time" will be performed in the Gerald and Carolyn Blaney Theatre in Steele Hall at California University of Pennsylvania at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 and 25, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 26. The 23rd annual First Year Show is open to the public. The show is a breezy comedy full of laugh-out-loud merriment that pays homage to the melodramatic absurdity that is Greek tragedy. Subject matter offers mature content and themes which may not be suitable for younger patrons. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for those 60 and older and 12 and younger. "Jekyll and Hyde" will take to the stage at the Greensburg Garden & Civic Center, 951 Old Salem Road, Greensburg at 8 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18 and 2 p.m. Oct. 19 when murder and chaos are pitted against love and virtue at the theater's 68th season opener. The Fayette County Law Library presents Stacey Evans as the October artist. Her “Plastic Canvas” will be on display now through Oct. 30. The library is located on the second floor of the courthouse. The public is invited, admission is free and the library is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. The Law Library is closed from noon to 1 p.m. every day.

Jozart Center for the Arts in California will continue the Wine & Line program at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Those attending can bring wine and snacks and create an original piece of art from start to finish under the guidance of a teaching artist. Cost is $22 and includes all materials. Mummies of the World: The Exhibition is open now at the Carnegie Science Center’s PPG Science Pavilion. The exhibit will feature 40 real human and animal mummies and 85 related artifacts, including: South American shrunken heads, a mummified family discovered in a Hungarian church, medical mummies from the early 19th century, examples of what bog bones and embalmed skin feel like and more. Purchasing Mummies of the World tickets in advance is highly recommended and can be purchased at www.carnegiesciencecenter.org.

Art @ Uniontown Art Club — Gallery 86 is now the home of the Uniontown Art Club and is located at 86 West Main Street in downtown Uniontown. The gallery and gift shop is filled with unique and one-of-a-kind works of art made by local artists. Hours of operation are 12:30-5:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. ”Era of Cool: The Art of John Van Hamersveld” is now on exhibit at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, 221 N. Main St., Greensburg. Van Hamersveld designed record jackets for pop and psychedelic bands, including the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones, from the 1960s onward. The exhibit will run through Oct. 20.

Heinz Galleries at the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History will present An Art of Changes: Jasper Johns Prints, 1960-2018, beginning Oct. 12, as the next exhibit. Known for his iconic paintings of flags and targets, Johns has astonished viewers with the beauty and complexity of his work across a variety of media. Organized by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, this is a rare opportunity to explore his printmaking in depth, tracing shifts in subject, material, and mood over the course of his career. Visitors can learn more through drop-in art chats, and weekend and Thursday evening tours of the exhibition.

The Bullskin Opry started its fall season of bluegrass music last week. The next events are Nov. 2 and Dec. 7 at the grange on the Bullskin Fairgrounds, 938 Pleasant Valley Road, Mount Pleasant.
