Stage Right will hold performances of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” live under the big top in the Stage Right parking lot, 105 W. 4th St., Greensburg, on Oct. 23, 24, 30 and 31. All shows are at 8 p.m. Masks must be worn into the tent and while moving around, but do not have to be worn while watching the show. Tickets are $25 for reserved seating in the first 10 rows, $20 for general admission. Only 200 tickets will be sold for each show. St. Vincent College Players are presenting a virtual performance of the one-act courtroom comedy “Objection! Disorder in the Court!”. The performance will be available for viewing on the St. Vincent College YouTube channel starting Thursday, Oct. 22. The cast includes John Crocetti, a junior finance major from Connellsville as Mr. Flops.
A Gothic Horror lecture series is being presented through Pittsburgh’s Classic Theatre. The first session, “Forbidden Love, Eternal Youth, and Blood” will be presented on Friday, Oct. 23. The second, “The Dark Side: Stevenson, Tolkien and Lovecraft” will be held on Friday, Oct. 30. Both sessions are at 2 p.m. The free lectures examine the darker side of literature. Each is 60 minutes and both are appropriate for those 12 and older. Registration is available at picttheatre.org.
West Virginia Public Theatre is seeking voice actors for a radio play of “A Christmas Carol.” WVPT is looking for actors who can use vocal variety to portray multiple character ranging in age and gender, along with a variety of British dialects. Audio auditions will be accepted through Sunday, Oct. 25. The WVPT Facebook page, @wvpublictheatre.org has complete details on where and how to submit .mp3 audition files. Zoom auditions can also be arranged. The show will be presented and recorded in the Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre to a limited and socially distanced audience on Dec. 3. Ghosts, goblins and witches have appeared on the shelves of Brownsville Free Public Library, which is featuring a hair-raising collection of haunted tales of the unknown. The books offer the most chilling horror genre available at library, 100 Seneca St. The library’s new hours are Mondays and Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Masks are required as is hand sanitizing when entering the building. The Center for Coalfield Justice is hosting a series of environmental justice films: “After the Spill” on Nov. 4; “Mossville: When the Great Trees Fall” on Nov. 11; “Condor and the Eagle” on Nov. 18 and “Invisible Hand” on Dec. 2. Pittsburgh Classic Theatre will present Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” as a radio play Dec. 17-Jan. 3, streaming through Broadway OnDemand. Cost to listen to the program is $13.95. The 24th season will kick off in March, with a collection of three plays: “The Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde,” “Measure for Measure” and “The Boys in the Band.” Those performances will also be recorded and streamed, and dates for the performances have not yet been set. Fayette County Historical Society has opened a “speakeasy” as part of its People and Places on the Pike exhibit in the Abel Colley Tavern & Museum, 7083 National Pike E., Smock. The speakeasy exhibit reflects on Fayette County’s history of growing grain and distilling it. During Prohibition, Fayette had a number of unofficial and illegal speakeasies. Uniontown Art Club artist Jessica Lotman is having a live online sale on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. via Facebook Live. Lotman creates based on a reaction or interpretation to experiences, surroundings or subject matter using expressive colors in an abstract style. Her work has been described as playful, fun and evoking. She hopes the viewer will be able to connect with how she may have felt while creating a piece.

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents “Live from the West Side: Women of Broadway” livestream concert series. Two-time Tony Award winner Patti LuPone performs Oct. 24, Tony Award winner Laura Benanti performs Nov. 14, and actress and singer Vanessa Williams performs Dec. 5. The concerts will be streamed live from New York’s Shubert Virtual Studios, featuring a mix of Broadway showtunes, pop songs, and personal stories from the life of each woman. The Old Time Fiddlers Jamboree, for the rest of 2020 (October, November, & December) have been canceled due to concerns for the membership during this pandemic.
