Stage Right hosting Harvest Fest this Saturday

Stage Right School for the Performing Arts will host their second Harvest Fest on Saturday, Oct. 21 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Greensburg Garden and Civic Center.
The indoor/outdoor event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit, which serves people Southwestern Pennsylvania. Harvest Fest features fall-themed activities for kids and adults, beer tastings, Oktoberfest-inspired foods, and live music.
“Our Harvest Fest sums up everything that Stage Right represents. Our focus on community, partnerships, families and supporting local artists and vendors,” said Stage Right Executive Director Christopher McAllister.
Continuous live outdoor performances by local artists and Stage Right will include popular hits and original music in a variety of genres.
Aubrey Burchell, an Irwin native and America’s Got Talent Season 17 Semifinalist will perform at 4:30 p.m. Headliner Essential Machine, an indie rock trio from Pittsburgh, closes out the event at 5:40 p.m. Other performers include: Allison Borek, Miss Freddye, Jeff Perigo and members of the nonprofit organization Band Together Pittsburgh.
“The entertainment at the festival will be provided by local artists with notable recognition. They are entertainers that I’ve personally heard at other festivals and am proud to book for our Harvest Fest. The real feature will be our students and their classes. They will perform in between the professional stage acts and show just exactly what our students learn and take classes in at Stage Right,” McAllister said.
Other activities include a scavenger hunt, coloring, pumpkin painting and a stein-holding contest. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to exercise their artistic talents by carving a pumpkin and bringing it to the event. The first 30 pumpkins to arrive will be accepted. Attendees will vote on the pumpkin they like the best by placing money in the container for that pumpkin. The pumpkin with the most money in its jar at the end of the event will be the winner. The prize is a pair of tickets to a Pittsburgh Steelers game.
Those 21 and older can purchase a commemorative glass and go to the beer tasting room for samples from noon to 7 p.m. There will also be raffles, silent auctions and a variety of vendors on hand.
A Harvest Pass is available for those 21+ that includes admission to the festival, Oktoberfest style meal, edible pretzel necklace, commemorative tasting mug and tasting punch-card. General admission is $10 for adults and children under 18 are free.
