"I Want My Mummy!" cast members will take the stage at the Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale this weekend. The fun, light-hearted all ages show “I Want My Mummy!” hits the stage for three performances this weekend at the Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale.

The comedic musical features a cast of 13 young actors and actresses ranging in ages from 9 through 14 from across Fayette and Westmoreland counties. A mix of familiar monsters will have the audience laughing, including a vampire, mummy, werewolf, phantom bride, Medusa, and others.

The monsters are unable to fit in with society, so they live in the castle of Baroness Frankenstein, hidden from the outside world. Soon news arrives that the wealthy Mrs. Hoople, who owns the castle, will visit. The monsters pose as servants during her visit and the fun begins. The audience will be treated to several fun songs as part of the musical creature feature, including “It’s a Madhouse” and “Werewolf.”

Music Director Jane Staranko worked with the cast over the past two months to help them learn the songs. The show is co-directed by Tina Lepidi-Stewart and David Postlethwait.

Children attending the show are encouraged to get into the Halloween spirit and wear costumes. The cast will provide treats to kids in costumes at each performance. Shows are Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 28 at both 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets are available for $10 either online at geyerpac.com or at the door.
