Margaret E. Cox
Margaret E. “Libby” Cox, 89, of Amity, died Friday, March 25, 2011.
She was born in Sycamore October 6, 1921, a daughter of Charles R. and Effie Mae Iams Wood.
She was a Nineveh High School graduate.
Mrs. Cox worked as a clerk at G.C. Murphy in Waynesburg and Grants in Washington.
She was a member of Amity Methodist Church.
She loved to play bingo, play cards and go to the casino.
On November 7, 1942, in Tacoma, Wash., she married Charles Raymond Cox, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 69 years, are a son, Terry Lee Cox Sr. and wife Gloria of Waynesburg; a daughter, Ann Marie Jenkins of Amity; stepmother Naomi Wood of Washington; brothers Lonnie Wood of Clarksville and Robert Wood of Texas; sister Nancy Froncak of Florida; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a son, Gerald Raymond Cox, who died at birth; two sisters, Dorothy Cox and Evelyn Hackney; and three brothers, Clyde, Ralph and Glen Wood.
