Violet J. Dufour Smith
Violet J. Dufour Smith, 84, of Greensboro, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born in Point Marion August 18, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank and Rosalie Dupont Dufour.
Surviving is her husband, Alfred Smith Sr., whom she married June 6, 1953.
Mrs. Smith was a 1945 graduate of Point Marion High School.
She was member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, Aerie 1932, having served as secretary for 21 years.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her husband, surviving are two sons, Alfred Smith Jr. of Garfield Heights, Ohio, and Ronald Smith and wife Susan Pekar Smith of Parma, Ohio; two daughters, Rosemary Costa and husband John of Point Marion and Kathryn Hughes and husband Jeffrey of Graysville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are twin grandsons Kirk and Kyle Hughes; five brothers, Robert, Roger, Frank, William and George Dufour; and three sisters, Ann and Blanche Dufour and Rose Pacholik.
