Walter Richard Pfeiffer
Walter Richard Pfeiffer, 70, of Marianna, died Thursday, April 14, 2011, in his home.
He was born in Brackenridge January 22, 1941, a son of Walter Jacob and Ida May Stauffer Pfeiffer.
He attended Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he received his degree for respiratory therapy, being one of the first 1,000 nationally registered in the United States. He served as the director of respiratory care at Greenery Specialty Care Center in Canonsburg for almost 20 years until his retirement.
Mr. Pfeiffer served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Steele Lille American Legion Post 744 of Marianna.
He was a member of North Ten Mile Baptist Church.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
On September 25, 1978, in First Christian Church of Marianna, he married Christa Lynn Knizner, who survives.
Also surviving, in addition to his wife of 32 years, are two daughters, Melissa Michelle Pfeiffer and fiancé Arron Raber of Waynesburg and Sarah Christine Pfeiffer of Marianna; a brother, Al Pfeiffer of Delaware; as well as three nephews, TR Mansfield of New Jersey, Mickey Mansfield of North Carolina and Scott Davis of Butler.
