YARD SALE – Oakview United Methodist Church in Waynesburg will host a multi-family yard sale Aug. 5 and 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days, rain or shine. There will be furniture, toys, games, houseware items, clothes, books, DVDs and more. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds benefit the church’s mission trip to Jamaica.

BENEFIT EVENT – A pancake breakfast and car wash will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 7-11 a.m. at the Rogersville Fire Hall. The event will benefit Center Township VFD and Auxiliary. Call 724-499-5385 for additional info.

DRIVING CLASSES – Seniors for Safe Driving will present a safety program Aug. 9 and 10 for drivers aged 55 and older at the Fox Ford Dealership on High Street in Waynesburg. BENEFIT CONCERT – Jonathan White, a gifted gospel singer, songwriter and musician from Ohio, will be performing a benefit concert for a new Greene County special needs ministry, 2nd Sam 9, Inc., at the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesburg on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. A love offering will be accepted. Opening for White is Greene County’s own Ron and Sandy Lusco. Sandy has been a regular on the Wheeling Jamboree and sung at Jamboree in the Hills. White will also be performing at Carmichaels United Methodist Church on Sunday, Aug. 14 at 8:30 and 11 a.m.

ZOO TRIP – The Bowlby Public Library will be coordinating a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo on Aug. 13. Anyone is welcome to attend. Bus transportation will be provided. Call the library at 724-627-9776 for specific info on ticket prices and additional details on departure times.

COAL SHOW – The 58th Annual Bituminous Coal Show will take place in Carmichaels Aug. 20-27. This week-long celebration honors King Coal and our regional heritage. There will be a wide variety of events and activities. For more info, check out their website at http://www.kingcoalshow.org.

FRONTIER FESTIVAL – The 29th annual Mason-Dixon Frontier Festival will be held on Aug. 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. Free admission. Sign up for door prizes at the Mason-Dixon booth. Crafts, music, pre-1840 living history encampment, 1860-1900 encampment, antique engines and cars, blacksmith demonstration, civil war encampment and much more. Golf cart shuttle available. Take 1-79 to exit 1, Mt. Morris, to Creek Rd. 1/2-mile to Mason-Dixon Park in Pa.
